Is Hell Real?

Who will go to hell?

Posted by Is Hell Real? Who Goes There? on June 14, 2008 at 1:24 AM

This is a difficult topic and not one I find easy to talk about.  However it is something that we all have to come to terms with.   This is especially true for anyone who calls themselves a Christian.  Just to get you thinking, consider this...

Jesus spoke of a day of judgement where the righteous (made righteous by faith and through God's grace) will go into eternal life but the wicked will go into eternal punishment (Matthew 25).

But who exactly are the wicked?  Who exactly will go to hell?

It's one thing to say that on judgement day, some people will go to hell, or that the wicked will go to hell, or that those who do not repent and put their trust in Jesus will go to hell ... its a whole lot more personal and difficult to deal with when you accept the reality that your husband or wife, your mother or father, your grandparents, your brother or sister, your children or grandchildren may go to hell!

According to the Bible, people you know now, may end up going to hell!

Some react to the teaching of the Bible on hell for this very reason: they cannot accept that God, if he is a God of love, would send their loved one to suffer eternally in the lake of fire.

And they reject what the Bible says on the basis of this alone.

Maybe you have struggled with this issue yourself.  Many have.

The important thing to remember is that each person is personally accountable to God.  This includes you.  You will need to think through the Bible's message about heaven and hell, eternal life and eternal punishment, just like your loves ones will need to think this through.  You will die one day, just like your loved ones will die one day.  You will have your beliefs about life after death put to the final test, just like your loved ones will have their beliefs put to the test.

Knowing this, it is important that you get right with God yourself first.  And secondly, if you have experienced the mercy of God towards you as a sinner, then with compassion in your heart for your loved ones, tell them the truth about hell and give them the opportunity to receive the forgiveness of God offers freely through Jesus and his death for sinners.

Here's a couple of verses from the Bible to think about:

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23)

"But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, ?In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.? These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.  But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,  keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.  And have mercy on some, who are doubting;  save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

If you are a Christian, you have a responsibility to learn how to present the gospel truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.  If you profess to be a Christian, this does not just mean putting your trust in Jesus and what he has done for you on the cross, but also in his word - this includes his words about hell as the destiny of the damnend.  Jesus said, "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels (Mark 8:38)."

So please considier Jesus words about hell.  CLICK HERE to go to them now.  These are the words Jesus spoke of hell.  Being his disciple, means not being ashamed of these words but taking them seriously and acting on them.   Go to the "For Christians" page for help on this.  God Bless, Dave.

See my comment in the first Blog entery about fear. Have look too at the page "A Loving God and Hell". Just briefly, fear doesn't have to be a bad thing. Fear will keep you from touching a hot flame. And Jesus himself said we should fear God how along has power to cast body and soul into hell. The same God also sent Jesus to save you from hell by paying the penalty for your sin by his death on a cross. <br> <br>One of the best ways to understand this is to do the <span style="font-size:18px"><a href="http://www.eternalhell.net/goodpersontest.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">GOOD PERSON TEST</a></span>. Click the link and do it now. May God Bless you as you do. Dave

I am not totally sure if you are a Christian or not, but to keep people from going to Hell- which is a real place- (and if you are a Christian you should believe that) we must share the love of God to others, Christian or not.

Do the Good Person Test and go to the page about a loving God and hell. That should answer your questions. <br> <br>This site is here to address a specific question. While there are other topics that come up, the focus is on drawing people's attention to the fact that the Bible presents hell as real and that it speaks about hell to warn people to "flee the wrath to come". <br> <br>If God didn't love people, he would not warn them of hell nor provide as way to escape it through the shed blood of Jesus. Hope that helps and thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts. God Bless, Dave.

Hi, thanks for signing my guestbook. First of all, no, I'm not a good person. There is no such thing as a 'good person.' However, I know I have sinned, and that I cannot do otherwise on my own. But I have repented (and do, constantly), and my sins have been forgiven through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Nope, I'm not a 'good person', but I'm <i>trying</i> to be like Jesus.

Thanks for reading and leaving your comment on my web page. I know with out a doubt where I will spend my life in Heaven with my Lord Jesus. I don't like the thought of people spending a time in hell forever but we have a choice. God has given us a choice, He said choose this day life or death but choose life. God doesn't send anyone to hell. Hell was made for the devil and not people but because people choose to live a life with out Jesus is what causes them to go to hell. Sin isn't what cause people to go to hell. Jesus paid that price on the cross. It is rejecting Christ. Because without Christ in our life there is no life. I am a born again Holy Spirit filled , bible speaken , tongue talken Christian and very proud of it. Amen. I believe in the Bible from cover to cover.

Thanks, Dave, for visiting my website. Yes, the Truth offends, and is unpopular, but as representatives of Christ Jesus, we must not adhere to the world, and stay seperate, as we are commanded in : Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you -2nd Corinthians 6:17 There in reality, are millions going to hell. Many of them are proclaimed "Christians". But we are also warned in : Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. So yes, not everyone that proclaims to be Christian is. If the Truth offends, so be it.

The Orthodox view is different from this western portrayal of hell. You can find the view here: <a href="http://www.geocities.com/trvalentine/orthodox/riveroffire.h
tml <br> <br>Hell " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.geocities.com/trvalentine/orthodox/r
iveroffire.html <br> <br>Hell </a>is not a separate place for sinners but rather the state of those who suffer due to their sinfulness before the Presence of Christ. Those who have struggled towards Christ will experience the Light of His Presence as something beneficial while those who have rejected this will experience it as something tormenting. In other words what is constant is all having to stand before Christ- so hell is not a separate place where death still holds sway but rather a disposition of the soul resulting from unrepented sin. <br> <br>The article to which I referred you examines the problem "why would a loving God punish people?". The conclusion, expressed in a simplistic manner (I admit I have a simple mind) is that a loving God does not punish evil people, evil people punish themselves and that we will ALL eventually stand in God's presence, "righteous" and "unrighteous" alike. Whether or not that experience will be pleasurable or painful depends on how we prepare for it in the here and now. <br> <br>

Oh... and a couple of other minor points. <br> <br>First off, God does not have infinite love. He IS Love. The idea of a God of love creating man who will live for but a brief span of time and then roast him in a Hell that you portray for eternity without any hope of change for the reasons you give is not the God portrayed by the Church. It is a gross misrepresentation and misinterpretation of the Holy Scriptures. It is but a hang-over from medieval Catholicism from which all Protestant denominations issue forth (in spite of their denials to the contrary). God does not condemn us to a Hell where we suffer forever. We condemn ourselves by our refusal to accept His light, found in the life of His Son and the salvific death and glorious resurrection on the Cross. <br> <br>The problem with all the material presented here is that it is without the sanction of the Church. It is but the interpretations of individuals, expressly forbidden by the Holy Scriptures. The same bishops that gave us the canon of Scripture, also taught us how to interpret such. Without such authority, you merely have opinions and what results is a plethora of denominations (i.e. some 32,000 Protestant denoms and growing larger every day) each supposedly "rightly dividing the Word of Truth" by the guidance of the Holy Spirit AND YET coming up with diametrically opposite conclusions. No thanks, folks. I'll stick with the Church: the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of our Lord and Savior: the Orthodox Church. <br> <br>Furthermore, I find it a bit dishonest that you visit my site NOT to comment on my site but to attempt to proselytize me by inviting me to this place. AND you provide NO information on your profile. This whole thing smells of door to door religious huckersterism... banging on my door to give me the Gospel according to you. Not interested, thank you very much. <br> <br>At least be honest. Admit to who you are. Develop a profile and provide a means of communicating with you. Do NOT visit sites for the express purpose of proselytizing and yet pretending it is for the purpose of reading our material. It's DISHONEST. Yes...yes... I know you think that you have a corner on truth. You don't. You only think you do. <br> <br>

Boy, everyone wants to deny a literal, eternal, hell. The fact remains, if you are not born again you will burn forever in a literal lake of fire "where the fire is not quenched and their worm dieth not" That sounds like a literal place to me. you can give all the "explainations" you want , hell is a literal, eternal place of torment. Thanks Dave for telling the truth.

well what I mean to say but God should not be feared is that no religion should be preventing us from progress and scientific inventions. God loves us, just like our parents, do we fear them? We respect them and listen to them. People should not be good because they are scared of God- they should be good cause they are good! And yes, I believe that hell and heaven exist between us, I do not know whether I will go to heaven or hell, but I will find that out with my death, and I'm ready to go wherever I belong. And yes, I'm a Hindu and we believe in reincarnation, my job in this life is incomplete, so I may come back...

I'm sorry dudes, but how can any of you believe all the crap about God? <br>PEOPLE/HUMANS are the ones who made up everything about God. <br>We don't, like, magically just think of God. <br>He's been implanted into our lives by people who wanted to have a simple excuse for why we are on Earth. <br>Well, i guess i'm going to hell for wanting to have a good life and not turning back on my own free will to go beg God [someone who doesn't even exist] for permission or forgiveness. <br>Well, uh, i think talking to someone who doesn't exist is called CRAZINESS!!! <br>Maybe believing in something past death is a more accurate decision... <br>Listen, we only get one life...try to have the best time you can...God isn't going to help you with your troubles, and how can he when he isn't even there? <br>And another thing, if God is real, why does he let all those innocent people die of AIDS, Cancer, etc.? <br>How could he be so cruel? <br>According to you people, he is some amazing whatever you want to call him who deserves your utter devotion. THAT'S...well...RETARTED! <br>If there is a God, or some higher being, I'm sure he wants us all to have a great life. <br>That includes No stealing, Murdering, Lying, Raping, all that sick stuff. <br>But Lust is a fine thing...I mean seriously!!! <br>Humans are meant to lust. <br>Is God going to punish a rabbit for lusting after another one? <br>Come on, IT'S OUR NATURE! <br>This site is gay because it is worshiping someone who doesn't exist. <br>Maybe you should consider getting a life instead of reading your Bible... <br>Well, bye.

Leushino, you have been lied to and your Church is not the true Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, because if it denies that there is a literal Hell, thus, it is not God's Church, but a religious institution of Satan that denies the Holy Scriptures and will take you straight to Hellfire unless you repent of your unbelief and turn to Jesus Christ in faith and be saved by His grace. Read Revelation 14:9-11, 20:10-15, as well as the verses in the Gospels that describe Hell. Hell is a real, literal place where the wicked will be tormented day and night forever and ever in the prescence of the Lord Jesus Christ and will be burning forever with fire and have worms on them as well. The Scriptures talks about their worm dying not, and the fire not being quenched. Please, dear soul, repent and believe the Scriptures. Brother Dave cares about your soul and does not want you to burn in Hell forever. Please, turn to Jesus Christ. God hates all workers of iniquity(see Psalm 5:5). God is love, but He also has a righteous hatred for sin and for the unrepentant sinner. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Praise the Lord. May God bless you, Dave for showing the Biblical truth of a literal, burning Hell to a lost and dying world and pointing them to the Savior!

Hi, this is a great site and I think it's a wonderful tool to spread the truth. There's a really cool book called TRIDUANUS (http://www.workhorsepressonline.com ) that delves into similar waters with amazing clarity. Check it out and keep up the good work!

Why you need to be here

This site is here to answer questions about hell.  Not everyone believes in it but many do and you simply cannot afford to be wrong.  So please check it out before you check out.  Eternity is forever.  It's a long time to be wrong.

The "HELL FIRE" page

This page tells you just what hell will be like, in detail.  It is full of quotes and clear headings that state the specific things we are told about hell in the Bible.  You can also read what Jesus himself said about hell.
