ETERNAL HELL

End of the World Predictions

Eternity is  Forever

Hell is a place of TORMENT!

The Bible continually warns of a place called hell. There are over 162 references in the New Testament alone which warn of hell. And over 70 of these references were uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ!

Jesus warned people about hell when he told them about two men: a rich man and a man called Lazarus.  This is the story as found in Luke chapter 16, verses 22-28.  We pick the story up half way through.

"...the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham [a man spoken of in the Bible well known for his love of God] afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot [all hope is removed of getting out]; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment."  (The emphasis in this quote is that of the webmaster).

Do the GOOD PERSON TEST and see if you will be joining the rich man.

19 Lessons from Hell.  These are short statements that tell us something about hell from the experience of a man who went there and stayed there.

The suffering in Hell will be beyond anything humanly imaginable!

Hell is a real place where the damned will experience...

weeping (Matthew 8:12),

wailing (Matthew 13:42),

gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:50),

darkness (Matthew 25:30),

flames (Luke 16:24),

burning (Isaiah 33:14),

torments (Luke 16:23),

everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46)!

Jesus says in Matthew 25:41, "Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels."

DO NOT GO TO HELL!!

What are the Torments of Hell

The Bible says there will be such anguish of soul in the fire of hell that it will bring weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.  But what exactly brings this anguish?  The Bible does not spend a lot of time on this and maybe it doesn't need to.  In many respects, the cause of this eternal torment of the soul should be quite obvious.  It can be summed up in one word: Regret!

Just a couple of chapters before Jesus tells the story of the rich man who went to hell, he describes on of the greatest regrets of all...  "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out."  (Luke 13:38)

Chief among the regrets of hell will be knowing that you had the opportunity to be saved but now you are shut out of the pleasures of heaven and must endure the torments of hell, forever.  Just seeing (in what ever way that happens) those who trusted God to save them from their sins will torment your soul and bring weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth.   You will know down to the last detail, everything that you have lost out on.

Have you ever gritted your teeth and sreamed out from your inner being at a really foolish thing you had done, perhaps something that destroyed a relaltionship that you valued greatly.  Have you ever said to your self, "You fool!  How could you have done something so stupid, careless, reckless; now you're ruined everything!"

The Bible says, "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God."  (Psalm 14:1; Psalm 15:1).  This attitude towards God will lead to the eternal ruin of many.  If you are not saved, you you will choke on those words and many other words, actions, thoughts, forever!

You most likely will recall ALL the opportunities you had during this lifetime to repent before God and turn in humility to him to save you from your sins.  But now it is too late!   You will recall all the people who spoke to you, you will recall days when as a child someone taught you from the Bible, you will recall receiving pamphlets in the mail or in person that told you about God's plan of salvation, you may even recall that you had a Bible in your home.   We have only just  begun to make a list of hell's torments and it has only focused on one word: regret.

With that in mind, please note that the the Bible speaks of torments - plural (Luke 16:23-24 and 2 Peter 2:4). As well as this, some will be tormented more than others depending on their sins (Matthew 24:1314).  Some of the degrees of punishment will have to do with how much you knew of God's ways and how much you rejected them (Luke 12:42-48).

Are You Storing Up Wrath For The Day of Judegment?

The Bible says in Romans 2:5 says that unbelievers are "storing up wrath for themselves." The word used for wrath in this passage is the same word used when Jesus encourages believers to "store up treasure in heaven" (Matthew 6:20). Just as some people have more treasure "stored up in heaven" because of their obedience to God, so also some people have more wrath "stored up" for themselves because of their utter disobedience and rejection of God. Judgement according to works guarantees that the punishment will "fit the crime" and that the lost will be punished in proportion to their sins.

“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” - Spurgeon
